Universal Maternal Abdomen with

Twin to Twin Transfusion (TTTS)  Posterior and Anterior Placenta

There are 2 different inserts available for simulating laser anastomoses of the placenta in the posterior and anterior positions. The TTTS placenta inserts have been specifically designed to fit into the Universal Maternal Abdomen.  

 

The TTTS placenta inserts are sold as two separate units. Each of these units have been optimized to represent the posterior and anterior positions of the placenta.  Each insert contains a highly realistic placenta, a stuck donor twin, and a free floating recipient twin.  The placenta’s vein and artery configurations have been carefully mapped to accurately represent anomalies that are consistent with TTTS syndrome. 

 

The TTTS placenta inserts can be used to teach the identification of anastomoses sites, such as donor artery to recipient vein, donor vein to recipient artery, and donor vein to recipient vein.

When viewed through the fetoscope, the TTTS placenta and the accompanying fetus’ provide the user with a high-fidelity and haptic experience that is very life-like. The model has been designed to work with all of the equipment associated with this procedure. The placenta can be lasered on low power, without any noticeable damage. 

 

A crisis simulation option is also available. This component simulates an intrauterine bleed. For more information, please contact me.
