This life-like maternal model is durably constructed from plastic and silicone rubber. It is multi-functional, as it is designed to accommodate a variety of fetal sizes and prenatal procedures (amniocentesis, cordocentesis, and laparoscopic procedures). This model can be used with ultrasound to observe the interior cavity of the amniotic sac*. The removable clear plastic access hatch facilitates the repositioning of the fetus and/or placenta. This hatch also provides a unique perspective of the interior for observation of clinical procedures. 

 

The amniotic cavity is designed to be refilled with tap water. The silicone rubber abdomen can be punctured with a variety of needle sizes up to 20ga and the abdominal surface will self-seal (please note that punctures produced by large scopes may create a leak after the scope is removed).
